Bluewater 420 Refurbishment “Renaissance”
Michael & Pip Kalajzich had owned “Renaissance” since 1997 and were looking to upgrade into a larger yacht to gain more comfort in their latter years of cruising. After extensive research into larger designs and taking into account the effect of the global financial crisis meltdown they decided instead to refurbish “Renaissance”. The refurbishment involved changing her layout forward of the main bulkhead, adding a hard dodger cockpit enclosure, replacing teak decking with Marinedeck 2000 and upgrading outdated electronics. The effect was the feeling of a new yacht with new features. Bluewater was so impressed with the results that “Renaissance” was exhibited at the Sydney International Boatshow 2010 some 12 years after she was first exhibited. Most visitors commented very favourably on the yacht with many even thinking she was a brand new boat.

Bluewater 400 Refurbishment “Leyla”
In 2007 Mort Clark purchased a 14 year old Bluewater 400 and after owning her for over a year decided he wanted to renew and upgrade her systems as he intended to do a lot of single handed sailing. Virtually all systems including the engine, electrical and plumbing were replaced. Other upgrades included some restyling of the interior, new upholstery, bench tops, deck gear (such as a 2500w windlass), windows and deck hatches.
